A Ride for Memories
For over thirty years I have had a dreamed of riding my bike across America. I am finally doing it. Combined my ride will span over 3,800 miles, climb more than 150,000 feet over the course of 42 riding days. This is an organized ride through Trek Cycles. Joining me there are 21 other riders. The shortest day will be 30 miles and the longest, over 130 miles, averaging over 90 miles a day. See trip itinerary
I’m participating in a Ride Across America to show my love for all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. On August 20 I am starting my bike ride in Portland Oregon and ending in Portland Maine on October 5th. I am making this ride in honor of my father who made me the man, father and husband that I am!
I am raising funds and awareness to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Today, an estimated 47 million people across the world are living with dementia. This number is set to skyrocket to 75 million by 2030. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. These numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer’s disease they are not alone. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.
Join me in Astoria Oregon where I will be dipping my wheel in the Pacific Ocean on Aug 20th or in Portland Maine on October 4th for a dip in the Atlantic Ocean.

Special thanks to my wife Liz, and sons Jake and Josh for their inspiration and support.
